Who We Are
Adura is an independent joint venture and one of the largest operators in the UK North Sea by both production and resources.

Our Story
Adura brings together two proud North Sea businesses, combining world-class assets, generations of expertise and a shared ambition to deliver secure energy and economic benefits to the UK for decades to come.
Always intended to be more than the sum of its parts, Adura is building something new: a company with its own identity, culture and way of working, combining the best of our heritage with a clear ambition for the future.
“Very few people get the chance to help build a company from the beginning. We do.”
Neil McCulloch, Chief Executive, Adura
We're not just integrating organisations. We're creating the foundations of a company that can support the UK's energy security and be a place where people are proud to work.
Built on more than 100 years of North Sea experience, we are an independent joint venture, owned equally by Equinor and Shell. We are one of the largest operators in the UK North Sea.

Our Purpose
Our purpose is simple: bringing our energy to your future.
It's why Adura exists. It reflects the energy we produce to help power the UK, and the energy we bring to work every day through our expertise, commitment, and determination to deliver, safely and responsibly.
We recognise the responsibility that comes with being an industry leader. We have a significant opportunity to support energy security, create lasting value through skilled jobs and strong supply chains, nationally and in the local communities we support.
We also remain committed to reducing emissions intensity, targeting basin-leading CO₂ emissions per barrel produced through enhanced production efficiency.
By building on our strong foundations while investing in the future, we are well positioned to play a leading role in the next chapter of the North Sea's story.
Our Values
Our values are the source of Adura's identity, ethos and culture that guide us forward. They apply wherever we work: onshore, offshore, as an employee, contractor or supplier. They serve as our core pillars and will strengthen our foundation as team Adura.
-
Unified
We stand together as one, strengthening the whole through our shared commitment.
-
Dynamic
We move at pace, with confidence, seizing opportunities and continuously learning to evolve with purpose.
-
Authentic
True to our word, our values and our purpose.
-
Empowered
Committed to enabling people to take ownership, grow confidently, and contribute meaningfully to our shared success.
-
Accountable
We care for people and accept full responsibility for our actions, decisions and results.
Our Culture
At Adura, our purpose, strategy, values and culture are not separate ideas.
Our purpose gives meaning to what we do. Our strategy provides direction. Our values guide the choices we make and define the behaviours that help us perform at our best.
By bringing these together, we create a culture where people can do their best work, make better decisions and deliver stronger results. That is how we will succeed, today and in the years ahead.
Safety
Safety sits at the heart of our culture in Adura. As such, we have linked each of our values to a safety commitment, making safety fundamental to the way we do our business every day.
- We are unified in never compromising safety in pursuit of any other business objective.
- We are accountable for our own safety and the safety of our colleagues.
- Our actions on safety are most authentic when we genuinely care for each other.
- We conduct a dynamic risk assessment when a change occurs.
- We are empowered to pause the job.

Our Future
“What excites me most about Adura is the journey we are on and the potential that lies ahead. Very few people get the chance to help build a company from the beginning. We do.
Every decision we make, every improvement we deliver and every way we choose to work together is helping shape the kind of company Adura will become. The culture we build today will define how we perform tomorrow.
As we continue to grow, we will retain and attract the very best talent in our industry. We are building a company where people can make an impact, influence decisions and be proud of the role they play in our success.
Together, we have a unique opportunity to create a business that is respected for its performance, its culture and the value it delivers for years to come.”
